Customer Review: Same cable...low cost
I bought this cable for a quality picture and of course it does just that...the hdmi to hdmi cables are priced at nearly $50.00 for 6 ft. and $60.00 for a 12ft. cable at most retail stores....I was not willing to spend such a high price so when I ordered this from Amazon it cost me under 10 bucks for the exact same thing and the shipping was very quick even during the holiday season...same high quality cable that didn't cost much and saved me time.
Customer Review: Good Buys
This is going to be short but sweet. These generic HDMI cables are exponentially cheaper and work just as well as the $100+ Playstation name brand. Save your money!

It's been said that good things come in small packages. The Flip Mino proves that this is in fact the case, packing a lot of video power into a camera that's small enough to fit in your pocket. This camera just about does it all, and keeps it all wrapped up in an easily portable package. Everything that you'll need to have a great video experience is already onboard, letting you go from filming to editing and even to transferring onto a PC or uploading to video sharing sites.

The Flip Mino is a cute little camera with a streamlined look. Beneath that sleek exterior, however, lies the heart of a powerful video device. You can record up to 60 minutes of video onto the camera, and the Mino features built-in software that will let you edit your recordings without even having to transfer the video onto a computer. Add music of your choosing to your films, or take screenshots of particularly memorable moments so that you can have photos to go along with your video. You can even organize your videos in separate folders or just use the built-in date stamp to keep track of when they were created. All of your organization and editing takes place via the touch sensitive buttons located on the back of the device.

After you've captured the moment and edited it to your satisfaction you can easily transfer your video files onto your PC or upload them to the streaming video site of your choice. Instead of having to carry around a USB cable, though, the Flip Mino features a flip-out USB arm so that you can plug the camera itself directly in to your computer. Uploading your videos to popular video sites or sending them as email attachments can be done automatically by the Mino as well; all that it takes is the push of a button and your videos will be instantly uploaded.

It's rare that you'll find a camera this small that has so much to offer. From its 2 Gb of flash memory to its rechargeable battery, you'll find only the finest components in the Flip Mino. It truly was designed with ease of use and convenience in mind, and you'll be amazed each time you manage to capture great quality video with a camera that barely weighs three ounces.

Customer Review: Does this have audio outputs that can be connected to a receiver?
I just want to point out that neither this web page nor the manufacturer's web site specify that this has any outputs that can be connected to an external sound system. They need to clarify that because without audio outputs the machine becomes much less attractive. I expect that it does have them but the omission raises the possibility. . The answer is yes, it will output audio from the built in Blu-ray player. However, because it has optical and analog outputs only which output Dolby Digital, DTS, or two channel analog, it will not send next generation Blu-ray audio to an AVR. These include high-bit rate Dolby True HD, DTS HD, etc. I know this because I own the 32" version and the two TVs share similar outputs. This may be limitation to folks who want the latest audio from their Blu-ray player. In that case they should opt for an external player and connect their system as you so smartly suggest. Samsung has in the past few decades has propelled itself to become one of the most prominent electronic brands in the world, giving giants like Sony and Panasonic a run for their money. In recent years, Samsung has carved itself a niche in the LCD display market. Mention the word LCD TV and Samsung immediately comes to mind. Due to its cutting edge LCD HDTVS and its excellent track record when it comes to service and repairs, Samsung today undoubted holds the reign in the LCD TV market.

The LNB8000 and the LNB700 series are some of the latest Samsung LCD TVs released in 2009. All the models in both of these series features internet connectivity, anti-glare display surfaces and LED back-lights. The LNB8000 has a 240Hz refresher rate while the LNB7000 has a lower, 120Hz refresher rate.

Then we have the environmentally friendly LNB6000 series. All the models in the LNB6000 series uses 40% less energy than many other models in its class (based on statements released by the manufacturer). There is also the Series 4 models that are designed for the budget conscious customer. The Series 4 series are relatively cheap but yet comes with an impressive range of features the best value for your money.

Of course we have the popular Series 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 Samsung LCD TVs that are currently the best selling LCD TVs in the market. The higher the series the faster the response time are. These models come in a variety of colors and have a more modern and sleek design. The more expensive models have more outputs and connectors. The Samsung LN52A650 52-inch LCD TV and Samsung LN46A650 46-inch are examples of some of the most popular models in the market today.

LG 19LG30 19-Inch 720p LCD HDTV

Like all LG products the LG30 series is as aesthetically stylish as tit is technologically advanced. Slim, sleek and sophisticated - the LG30 series will enhance your sense of style.
Customer Review: Tuner Trouble
This LCD HDTV is a good size and the speakers aren't bad at all. The only issue I have with 19LG30, and it may be on all LG TVs, is that the four tuners do not integrate with eachother. 19LG30 has NTSC, ATSC and QAM (plus an broadcast tuner) but they are all given their own seperate folder that will not allow you to integrate them when scrolling through channels. Put more simply, if you press up (on the remote) and are on channel 5 (5-0, standard def.) with the CATV tuner, you cannot go to the HD channel 5-1 (which LG puts in the CADTV tuner folder) you will go to the next in-line standard definition channel, ie. 6. One needs to press 5 again on the remote to go to 5-1 or 5-2 etc. Once in the HD folder or CADTV, pressing up will only scroll through that folder channels. So if you want to go from channel 7.1 (HD channel) to channel 8 (SD channel) you cannot logically and simply press up on the remote: you must press 8, wait for the delay, and the TV then switches to the CATV folder of channels. Bollocks! This "set-up" is totally frustrating if you are using this TV without a cable box, which is kind of the idea for a 19" TV, and typically scroll channels using up and down on a remote. I am not sure if this will be an issue after 17 February however, as there is a seperate folder labeled DTV in the channel menu (which remains empty after auto-tuning). If DTV integrates all the channels (once it is online) than this is a dead isssue and this is a 5 star TV. Otherwise why LG do you have such a poor operating system that can't enable/integrate the different tuners? Samsung and Sony integrate the tuners into one folder/line-up.
Customer Review: Good TV
The TV offers a nice contrast ratio, for a small package. It has built in settings for like game, movie and sports. Most in this size don't offer that. It also has for its speakers, the settings offers different sound settings. Standard (which is the default) sounds like a tin can. But if you change it, it sounds nice. So I can not recommend the default sound.

With summer warmth still lingering in the air (at least in the afternoons here in the Northeastern US), it's hard to turn your mind to Christmas, but in reality it's only two months away. Yikes! I'm not a terrible procrastinator, but every year, I somehow convince myself that Christmas is far off, and end up spending the last two weeks before the holiday in a manic shopping frenzy. This year will be different. I will start early, and I will find the perfect gift for everyone!

Since I adore everything pink (electronics in particular) and I know a lot of you do too, I thought I'd share some of my perfect pink discoveries (ordered from least to most expensive) with you.

Tea rose colored and nostalgia-inducing, the Princess Phone by Crosley is small, classy and indisputably feminine. Originally introduced in 1959, it has been updated with modern technology (push buttons, flash/redial and volume control) but has thankfully kept its looks. It's corded, which is a good thing - recent research suggests that cordless home phones expose you to dangerous levels (100 times more than cell phones) of electromagnetic radiation.

Sony's bubble gum colored portable DVD player DVP-FX820/P is great for watching movies on the go. While not the most imaginatively named, is does have a lot of terrific features such as an incredibly clear, crisp 8" HD swivel screen with 800x480 resolution, an external (but fits like an internal) battery which lasts up to 6 hours (tip: turning the LCD brightness level down extends the battery life), two headphone jacks, remote control and a car adapter.

The totally adorable metallic champagne pink Nikon CoolpixS60 is a digital camera which is not only a joy to look at, it's loaded with great features: 10 megapixels (meaning flawless, sharp prints up to 16x20), a 3.5" touch panel which lets you focus on a specific subject just by touching it on the screen, face-recognition, which finds the face(s) in a picture even in low light or when they're moving around, 3 different anti-blur modes, automatic red eye removal, 17 different modes including the more unusual "food", "party" and "museum" settings, and it weighs only 5.1 oz.

The iPod touch is a marvelous sleek "toy" with some terrific features: a phenomenal music player, video playback, a Safari Web browser, photo viewer, an e-mail reader and lots of other components such as weather, calendar, maps, and stocks. How about taking that toy one step further and adding some gold to it? That's precisely what Continental Mobiles, an online British luxury shop, has done. They offer the iPod touch (as well as several other iPod models) encased in 18k rose gold, adding even more sophistication to an already uber-posh gadget.

With the look of a designer handbag, Ego laptops are without a doubt the most stylish and chic notebooks I have ever seen. Made by Ego Lifestyle in the Netherlands, these gorgeous computers come in a variety of designs (check out the pale pink Destiny or the cerise Flamingo), but if you don't see anything you like, they can customize them for you. Ego's laptops are currently available in the US from Saks Fifth Avenue in NYC and Avant Gallery in Miami Beach, and in the UK at Selfridges and Harrods in London and at Gassan Diamonds at Heathrow Airport.

I hope I have given you a bit of inspiration for finding the perfect gifts for your family and friends. Remember, it's never too early to start shopping for the holidays!

Antennas Direct "The Lacrosse" Amplified HDTV Antenna

Marketing description is not available.
Customer Review: HD ANTENNA
It works great. Maybe over-kill on SIZE and Money. I tried a $50 ,shoe box size unit that worked as well, from Home Depot. This was a fair weather comparison, and I have a clear line of sight to broadcast antenna. As I said it works great in all weather and it is big.
Customer Review: Worth the Money
Simple setup, even the mounting process is easy. I unpackaged it, set it on the floor and picked up 20+ digital channels on my first scan using the TV's built in tuner (yes, the tuner matters). Once mounted on my roof I picked up broadcast stations about 55 miles away, with over 30 total channels received (some duplicate). I live on the fringe of the 40 mile 'limit' of this antenna, about 38.5 miles from the HDTV broadcast towers. I bought an indoor TV Tuner device that used its body as a antenna and received zero channels. The only possible advantage is that I live at altitude, about 1000' higher than the nearest city with a pretty good line of sight (35+ miles) to the HD broadcast towers. I used common RG-6 cable I had laying around and have no regrets about the HD signal quality, it is noticeably better than my satellite provider's HD signal on a 720p TV. Easy to mount. Mounted to my roof with J-mount hardware and some extra lag bolts to secure it against strong winds. Second night we had 40+mph sustained winds and it was fine. Ran the direct line to a 4 way splitter and dropped some channels. Despite the internal amplifier, I plan to add a powered signal booster to see if I can recover those channels (and maybe pick up more).

Many people, especially those with satellite TV receivers, have heard of MPEG. MPEG is a standard for reducing the size of the video signal so that it can be broadcast more easily. This is known as "signal compression". Compressed Digital Video (CDV) is comparable to using MP3 files for music. It makes the file smaller without damaging it, so that it takes less time to download (less bandwidth), and more songs can be stored on your player.

CDV reduces the signal bandwidth requirements of a TV signal to enable its transmission via the Internet, DVD, cable, or satellite. This is necessary because an uncompressed video signal is very large. High definition files are much larger than standard definition files.

  • A standard definition DVD movie file size is approximately 3 GB/Hour.
  • An uncompressed 1280 X 720 (HDTV) movie file size is over 150 GB/Hour.
  • An uncompressed 1920 X 1080 (HDTV) movie file size is over 350 GB/Hour.
  • An MPEG-2 (CDV) HDTV movie file size is approximately 9 GB/Hour.
  • An MPEG-4 (CDV) HDTV movie file size is approximately 5 GB/Hour.

The early use of CDV (for standard definition programming) was pioneered by the satellite TV companies, DirecTV and the Dish Network.

CDV is the process of discarding data for that information that would be invisible to the viewer. However, too much CDV will significantly distort the output. The higher the level of CDV, the more data that is discarded. Discard too much, and the distortion is very noticeable.

CDV is a tradeoff between file size and video quality. CDV operates on pixel neighborhoods, called a macroblock. The CDV records only the changes within those blocks. This works well if the video is primarily static images like text.

In a basketball game, when Kobe takes it to the basket, more pixels change from one frame to the next. When this happens, the video compression algorithm must work harder. The picture quality after compression depends on the complexity and predictability of the image.

The most common CDV standards are authored by the Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG). Applying CDV to video is an intensive computer operation, but uncompressing (undoing the CDV) MPEG data to video is much less difficult. A C-Cube real-time MPEG-1 video encoder using 8 custom-designed video processor chips sells for $120,000.

MPEG standards are not owned by anyone. Various companies and researchers have MPEG patents, but one does not have to pay a license fee to use MPEG technology.

DVD and Blu-ray discs have CDV used during the mastering process (Blu-ray has enough disc capacity that the CDV is not aggressive, thus does not add significant distortion). High bitrate video algorithms with little CDV exist for video post-production work, but these still create an enormous file, and for this reason are seldom used for the distribution of video.

There are several MPEG standards being used but only three are in general use for commercial video distribution:

MPEG-1

MPEG-1 was the first widely used video (and audio) CDV standard. MP3 is an abbreviation of "MPEG-1 audio layer 3". MPEG-1 supports a video resolution of 352 x 240 at 30 FPS (frames per second). It is the standard for the CDV of moving pictures (and audio). This standard has roots in CD-ROM video applications, and is a popular for video found on the Internet (.mpg files).

MPEG-2

MPEG-2 can support video resolutions of 720 x 480 and 1280 x 720, at 60 FPS. MPEG-2 is capable for both standard definition TV and HDTV. The MPEG-2 standards is also used to store data on a DVD. This is the algorithm used by DirecTV and the Dish Network.

MPEG-2 is the standard on which Digital Television set top boxes and DVD CDV is based. It is based on MPEG-1, but modified for use by digital broadcast television. Different algorithms have been developed and have been integrated into the standard. MPEG-2 is well suited to HDTV resolution and bit rates. With this technique, CDV can compress video data by 15 to 25 times while still producing a picture quality that is generally considered high quality.

MPEG-4

This standard is the future CDV standard that will almost certainly be used by most services delivering HDTV. This includes AT&T, DirecTV, and the Dish Network. A number of cable operators have also started MPEG-4 trials. This standard was originally designed for the Internet. Individual objects within a scene are tracked separately. This is very efficient.

The move to MPEG-4 by the satellite companies is not designed to improve picture quality, but because this algorithm is much more efficient. An MPEG-2 HDTV channel utilizes the bandwidth of six standard definition TV channels; an MPEG-4 HDTV channel would only consume the bandwidth of three standard definition TV channels. MPEG-4 uses half the bandwidth of MPEG-2, and so your service provider will be able to offer twice the number of channels.

OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP)

Consumers are now able to purchase their own cable box/DVR combos from electronics retailers. OCAP is a way for cable operators and other service providers to deploy interactive services like a PC. This will enable your American Idol voter to cast their vote with the remote control for their TV.

Consumers want their HDTV, and service providers who can supply the programming will thrive. MPEG-4 is the best and most cost-efficient option for cable operators and other service providers.

HDMI Cable 6ft 6 ft 1.3 1080P FOR PS3 TO DVD LCD HDTV

Transfer Digital Audio & Video signals at warp speed of 5 Gigabytes per second! A superb cable with excellent audiovisual transfer properties that deliver signal without compromising purity and balance. Color: Black Cable Length: 2 meters
Customer Review: Don't pay the "monster" prices!
Take the money you save and upgrade the Blue Ray. These cables fully support 1080p, period. Excellent, no... SUPERIOR BUY!!!
Customer Review: Yep is "cheap", some problems
I went for the cheap cable, and it is. For the price it gets the job done but for a few dollars more, get a slightly better cable. Make sure you're getting 1.3b type cables. I am using this with my PS3 connected to a Samsung 52" 650 model TV. I notice little white specks randomly bouncing around the screen ALL THE TIME. The pixels are small so its not super obvious unless you look. Basically this is an artifact from random digital bits being corrupted/dropped. So, while it works. I wish I would have spent a few more bucks and got a better cable.

You might be shocked to find out that quality HDTV is now very inexpensive. Unlike your friends who bought those giant projection TVs that have a fuzzy picture and used to invite everyone over for the game in the early part of the new millennium, your wait was worth it. How many of these monstrosities have you seen on Craigslist? Some people just want to give them away. Waiting for inexpensive HDTV was certainly worth it.

Whether you need an inexpensive HDTV for the living room, one for the bedroom, or even one for the bathroom, shopping online for HDTV is really the way to go. Not only can you view lots and lots of models, but getting it to your home is no problem. You don't need to borrow a friend's truck, or beg a neighbor to bring you to the store with their SUV. As inexpensive as HDTV might seem in your common brick-and-mortar stores, online LCD HDTV is even more inexpensive because online retailers don't have to pay for the overhead of a physical location. Why get dressed up to go out and shop when you can shop online in your pajamas. The coffee at home is lot cheaper, too.

What was considered to be inexpensive HDTV prices of last year are now expensive. Believe it or not, it is true. For example, a high-quality television that would have cost $1000 last year is now available for $500, or even less. Your wait was certainly worth it. You could probably outfit your entire home with various sizes of inexpensive HDTV devices for much less than you think. Your friends who switched from their giant projection television to a $5000 plasma 5 years ago won't believe that you were able to purchase a far better HDTV for the inexpensive price of roughly $500. It really is amazing, the superb quality you can now get for such an inexpensive price. Click here to see some inexpensive HDTV options.

Customer Review: Absolutely Beautiful
First off, somebody else wrote about a "jet engine" noise, and I have no idea what that's about. My machine is as quiet as it was before. This card is absolutely beautiful. It does everything it's advertised to do and more. It's quiet, fast, and has decent VRAM. Every problem I had with my old card is solved now. I am impressed beyond words. My Valve games (like Half-Life 2) look great and I get absolutely no lag. I did a stress test in Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, which uses Valve's "High Dynamic Range Rendering" technology, which is a whole new level of lighting control and graphics attached to their Source engine, and maxed out the graphics. I achieved 60 frames per second. I was in awe. Also while playing some of my other first-person shooters, like Call of Duty: World at War, I was able see things I never noticed before using my old setup, like heat-ripples from gunfire! Even older games like the first Half-Life look great. Even X-Plane likes this card, and X-Plane is hard to please sometimes. One of my favorite parts of this thing is the cable that plugs into a special S-Vid on the back and lets you output video in standard s-video, RCA, or PbPrY, which is great because I do a lot of video editing. nVidia does it again!
Customer Review: Great card for preformance lovers.
This is a great video card, especially for the price. You would find this card priced brand new at around 130-150 are local stores or anywhere else besides amazon. This card is pretty big, and is quite loud though. But to me performance is all that matters so its not really a inconvenience. Make sure you have adequate space in your case so your card fits. Its about 5 inches long I think. It also requires its own power source from the PSU. It comes with a Y Adapter power connector for that purpose. Uses a 6pin connector into the card and than it converts the 6 pin into a 4 pin molex. So you will also need 2 available 4 pin molex connectors with your PSU. You may need a fairly good power supply of at least 400w for enough power and to keep your system nice and cool, because this card generates lots of heat and uses a good amount of power. It also comes with the drivers on the installation disc, of course and lots of bonus material. Mainly just high definition Geforce wallpapers and some videos. For those who need a affordable high end card for gaming, or intense video editing this is the card to get. It runs at almost twice the performance of your Geforce 8600 series cards, so it would be cheaper to buy this and less power consumption than SLIing 2 8000 series cards. Another thing I like to add, I got the free 2 day shipping on this and got the card the very next day. Which was a super plus to get it a day ahead of schedule. So last though, if you want performance over anything else this card will not let you down.

Designing your viewing environment can affect your enjoyment of your home cinema as much as your choice of projector and screen. The best projector in the world will never be viewed at its best unless the home cinema viewing environment is also designed. Integrating curtains and blinds in to a mood lighting control system can ensure curtains close when required. Our lighting keypads contain ambient light sensors enabling us to close blinds if lighting levels are higher than optimum. In an ideal environment room lighting should be no more than 10% of the brightest white available through the display.

Back lighting the screen can reduce fatigue during extended viewing periods. It ensures dramatic changes in brightness between scenes do not tire the eye, causing fatigue. This back light should be closer to the blue end of the spectrum (normal incandescent lighting is too red and will therefore make skin tones appear washed out). Back lighting also helps the perception of blacks enabling screens which struggle to portray deep blacks.

Even elements such as colours in the room can impact how images are viewed - watching films against different coloured backdrops has a huge affect on colour perception and brightness. In general a neutral colour scheme should be displayed around the viewing area and should have a matt finish to minimise reflections.

Viewing angle also plays a huge part in viewing comfort, the fashion recently has been to mount LCD and Plasma displays above fireplaces, the viewing angle should be no more than %2B/- 15% - any more and fatigue will quickly set in. It is also worth bearing in mind that the further of axis the viewer strays the worse the picture may become - LCD screens in particular should be watched closely on axis whilst projectors and plasma displays are more forgiving.

Viewing distance is also important, our high definition installations allow the user to enjoy a great home cinema experience from about 3 times the height of the screen. As we install custom home cinema seating we can ensure viewing distance is correct and the screen is set to the correct height.
